If there’s one product that you can have in your beauty box, it’s tea tree. This plant has been found to contain antiseptical, antibacterial properties, which is why it’s so popular for skin health. Of course, it’s important for you to get advice on how to use it properly for your skin type – for example, if your skin is super-sensitive, you might ask an aromatherapist about which carrier medium (oil, or milk for example) is most suitable for you, depending on the way that you’re using it. Thankfully, many skin care products such as cleansers, soaps, exfoliators and moisturisers using tea tree use it at levels that have been tested for skin sensitivity, but it’s always worthwhile checking.
Tea tree became highly popular when the mainstream began to really pick up on the concept of natural health about 20 years ago – and since then it’s been widely used by many, for the skin, hair and nails.
Look out for products that use pure essential oil in the product from a supplier that you know is diligent about checking how the products are made, tested and kept consistent from batch to batch.
